Our Story — The House of JvSv

From the earliest days of our childhood, fashion wasn’t something we discovered—
it was something that lived within us.

Growing up surrounded by the vibrant world of Hmong embroidery, textiles, and patterns, we—Johnny Vang and Sunstar Vue—found ourselves captivated by craftsmanship long before we understood its meaning.
Sunstar, with nimble hands and boundless curiosity, began sewing at a young age, stitching stuffed animals with a precision far beyond his years. Johnny, endlessly inspired by the arts, spent hours drawing, painting, and imagining shapes that would one day become silhouettes. What began as childhood hobbies became the seeds of our shared destiny.

As teenagers, our paths formed naturally.
Sunstar’s talent evolved into designing garments for his sister—each piece more refined, more intentional.
Johnny, influenced by the ever-shifting tides of global fashion, began creating simple designs that carried an unmistakable voice. Fashion wasn’t an interest; it was the rhythm of our lives.

Where Destiny Met Design

Fate brought us together, and in 2012, we accepted an invitation that would mark the beginning of our story:
our first runway presentation — JvSv Autumn/Winter 2012/13.

The collection was born from limited resources but unlimited imagination. We dreamed of creating a cohesive line using our signature colors—deep blue and black—and metallic feathers that represented weight and weightlessness, the duality of our identity. The garments were raw, the styling simple, but the vision was unmistakably ours.

In the following season, JvSv Spring/Summer 2013, we pushed into new territory. Draping. Movement. Silhouette.
We explored fabrics we never had access to before, learning how material could speak, flow, and breathe. We designed to capture the spirit of a woman—her softness, her strength, and her quiet power. That collection taught us what it meant to innovate, to persevere, and to evolve.

A Pause That Became a Rebirth

In 2014, we prepared a collection called Transparence. It never debuted.
The cancellation was heartbreaking, yet it became a defining moment.
We shifted our focus to private clients and our education. Our sewing machines gathered dust, but our pencils never did. We transitioned into backend designers—sketching, conceptualizing, and bringing ideas to life through the hands of skilled seamstresses.

We learned that fashion is not defined by seasons—it’s defined by vision, discipline, and the ability to rise after every setback.

A New Era

Years later, something in our hearts stirred again. We traveled the world, collecting inspiration from every place, culture, and craft we encountered: traditional garments, modern elegance, jewelry, accessories, and the artistry of handmade craftsmanship across continents.

In that journey, we found our true purpose:

To help the world grow through fashion—by collaborating with artisans across the globe and creating masterpieces that honor culture, diversity, and human creativity.
